Growing is a collective term for growing cannabis. The term is very broad. Growing a small bush in an apartment is growing. Farm for 1000 plants - and this is also growing!

However, even in this framework, growing does not fit anymore. In the modern world, this is a whole cultural layer. There are many magazines, websites, books and films about growing. There are chats and groups on social networks dedicated to this, without exaggeration, phenomenon.

It could not be otherwise, because if you have ever grown a cannabis bush on your own, then your life will not be the same. With a huge degree of probability, growing will settle in your heart forever. This thing is contagious, in a good way.

Growing is now a profession, a hobby, a love, a passion. Growing is life!

It should be noted that cannabis and its cultivation have accompanied mankind for many thousands of years. It is generally accepted that the plant originated in Central Asia, somewhere in a triangle that includes the territories of modern Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Afghanistan. But very quickly hemp spread throughout the planet. And none other than a man did it!

We find the first evidence of the mass cultivation of cannabis in ancient China. Even more than 10 thousand years ago, people knew about the benefits of the plant. Cannabis was used as food, medicine, raw material for the production of fabrics and the strongest ropes.

It has found application both in rituals and in spiritual life. For example, the North American Indians believed that hemp was a gift from the gods sent to help humanity. By the way, weed was an indispensable content of Indian peace pipes during important negotiations and other diplomatic missions between the tribes.

Europe did not lag behind. For example, the British used cannabis as a medicinal drug until the early 20th century, bringing it from their colonies in India.

Completely different, tragic times for cannabis broke out at the beginning of the 20th century. This is the time of a widespread and strict ban on the circulation and cultivation of cannabis. Ironically, the ban came from the USA. Why irony? Because now the United States is the flagship of the legalization of marijuana.

But even a hundred years ago, the state was on the path of a militant ban - prohibitionism. Cannabis was then accused of all mortal sins. Allegedly, he drove people crazy, made them dissolute and inadequate. A uniform anti-cannabis hysteria began. A whole propaganda campaign was launched to denigrate the plant.

The reverse process began around the 60s, when the first scientific studies about cannabis began to appear. It turned out that not everything is so scary. Moreover, in certain cases, cannabis is even useful. A brilliant discovery, whatever you say, to make sure that our ancestors knew so well for many thousands of years.

The new dawn of cannabis occurred at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. First, the authorities warmed up to cannabis in Europe - in Holland. And then in the United States, state after state, the process of legalizing cannabis began. First medical, and then "entertaining" (recreational). Then Canada joined the legalization process, where in 2018 the cultivation and circulation of marijuana were fully legalized.

Now, hardly a month goes by without another state announcing that it allows its citizens to use cannabis.

However, there are still corners of the planet where hemp and growing are under the strictest ban. You don't have to look far for an example. Perhaps modern Russia is the clearest example of a short-sighted policy of prohibitionism. Here, all scientific facts and studies are simply ignored, cannabis users fill places of detention. It is enough to have a little more than 6 grams of marijuana to be prosecuted.

The saddest thing is that there is no end in sight for this state of affairs. Changes are not expected in the foreseeable future.

And yet, cannabis and growing managed to break through the policy of prohibition and find a place in the hearts of the people of the country. Today, the grow movement in the Russian Federation is one of the most powerful on the planet, although growers are forced to lead a conspiratorial, almost partisan lifestyle.

Growers can only wait, believe in the best ... and grow cannabis no matter what!
